Lasagna Freezer Meal

Lasagna is a comfort food in my home, my kids 10, 9, 8, and 6 love lasagna. I like having it in the oven when they come home from school, so it's ready by 5pm. Making lasagna used to be a task in the kitchen that I didn't look forward too. With this easy Lasagna freezer Meal, cooking it is a breeze and you can make 4-5 at half the cost of 2 pre-made lasagna meals you'd find in your grocers freezer.

I went to Save-a-lot for some of my ingredients and Walmart for the rest of the ingredients. This recipe is easy and simple and you can have 4 - 5 lasagna meals ready in an hour!

What you need to get started:

Ingredients:
2 pounds lean ground beef
2 (24 ounce) jars marinara sauce
2 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 medium onion, chopped
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
1 1/2 Parsley Flakes
1/2 tsp garlic powder
15 Oven Ready Lasagna Noodles
2 (15 ounce) containers Ricotta
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, I used Kraft Parmesan cheese.
5-6 cups shredded mozzarella cheese.

Optional* 1 pound Italian *sausage I didn't use sausage as we are not fans in my household. If you  omit sausage use another pound of hamburger.

I got my meat, seasonings, and mozzarella at Save-a-lot. The rest of the ingredients I got at Wal-mart.

You'll also need to pick up Reynolds oven ready 4 pack of 8x8 brownie pans, which can be find near the disposable cups, ziplock bags etc. I had to search the aisle and found them on the lowest shelf, I purchased 8 at a price of $9.82. Bonus, the left over pans I used for brownies!

Check out the Reynolds oven ready pans so you know what to purchase!

Directions:
In a large saucepan or pot, combine ground beef, *sausage which is optional, salt, onion and garlic powder . Cook on medium-high heat until the meat is chopped/crumbled and cooked throughly, meat should be brown with no pink.  Drain off any excess fat in a colander. Next, Add tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, and marianara sauce, stir until it's all combined. Simmer on low-heat for about 10 - 15 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
While the meat and sauce mixture is cooling. Get a medium sized bowl add in both ricotta cheeses, parsley flakes and a cup of Parmesan cheese. I used Kraft Parmesan Cheese. Mix until well combined.
Spread some sauce and meat mixture on the bottom of each pan, add 3 layers of lasagna noodles, top with meat/sauce mixture, add dollops of the ricotta cheese mixture, repeat. I made 2 layers for each lasagna. Top with mozzarella cheese, sprinkle parsley flakes on top of the mozzarella cheese. Place plastic lid on pan repeat all steps until you have about 4-5 lasagnas.
Freeze lasagna. When your ready to bake unthaw in the refrigerator, remove the plastic lid and cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Mmmmmm delicious!!!

Immediately refrigerate any left overs.
Enjoy!!!!
Voila! This makes about 4-5 lasagnas to freeze and have later!

I am just starting to think about making a bunch of freezer meals. I will add this one to my list. I love lasagna - this is a recent thing, too. I am also thinking about doing some homemade frozen pizzas!

Ok..after looking at this pic almost everyday. I have to figure out a way to make some low carb. That means no pasta/noodles. I"m sure there is one out there.

This Lasagna looks so good. I also like the fact that it uses Ricotta cheese.

Decorating my home can be a chore. It can be expensive, it can be hard to find the perfect pieces that match your style and home. I enjoy decorating my home but I dislike the work that goes into it, especially living on a budget and supporting 6 people in a single household. We host a lot of parties and events at our home. With that being said we have many guests coming in our home, I want my home to be warm, welcoming and inviting. It's my mom instinct to decorate, rearrange, and decorate my home some more, Especially for the seasons or event we are hosting in our home. What do I want my home to say about me? My family? I want it to say Hi! Hello! Sit down, make yourself comfortable! Comfort is what I want my guests too feel when they are coming over to  my home. I recently came across Groupon Goods Furniture . ...
