Baking 101: Egg Substitutes

My daughter, Age 6 has always been allergic to eggs. We discovered this one afternoon when she was 15 months old, my husband had given her eggs for breakfast.  My daughter broke out in hives, later it was confirmed she was allergic to eggs. We met with an allergy specialist who talked to us about egg allergies, she even handed us a pamphlet on what my daughter could and couldn't eat. When her 2nd Birthday came around I struggled to find someone who would make an egg free birthday cake, unfortunately I couldn't find anyone. It wasn't until my daughter was 3, I met a local baker who agreed to bake my daughter a cake for her 3rd birthday, she also introduced to me egg substitutes.

I will say one of our favorite egg substitutes is the mashed banana. It makes the cake so moist and soft. It liters just melts in your mouth it's sooooo good!!!!

Below are the egg substitutes my family uses and I hope you'll find them useful!

Please note if you're using the Chia seed, first mix the chia seed with water and let sit 15 minutes before using.

Flax seed mixed with water should be mixed well enough until it resembles creamy & thick egg like texture.

Do you have any additional egg substitutes you'd like to share? Comment Below!
